Meet Lorne

Lorne DeLarge is a dedicated community leader and candidate for Saanich Council with more than two decades of public service and local advocacy. Raised in Vancouver Island, Lorne earned a degree in Urban Planning and began his career working on sustainable housing and transportation projects. He later served as a planning analyst for the regional district, helping to shape smart growth policies that balanced affordability, environmental protection, and community character.

Lorne has been active in neighbourhood associations and non-profit boards, where he championed accessible parks, safer cycling routes, and community-based seniors’ services. As a small business owner, he brings practical experience in budgeting, job creation, and navigating local regulations. Lorne is known for a pragmatic, collaborative approach—listening to residents, building consensus, and delivering measurable results.

Key priorities include responsible fiscal management, improving active transportation infrastructure, increasing truly affordable housing options, and protecting green spaces. Lorne lives in Saanich with his partner and their two children and spends weekends volunteering with local youth sports and conservation projects. He is committed to making Saanich more livable, inclusive, and resilient for current and future generations.
